Game Reviews

Yes, the game really does look like that. No, it’s not a graphical error. I was immediately intrigued by this game’s concept, especially after seeing clips of it. I played the demo, waited patiently for the full release, and now I’m waiting (almost patiently) for Endless Mode. The game was much shorter than I hoped, and some of the lore can be a little hard to follow, but the gameplay is right up my alley. It ran well overall. I encountered a few bugs, but nothing game-breaking. I did have to restart once after getting clipped into the floor with no way out, but thankfully, the game saves pretty frequently, so I didn’t lose much progress. The graphics are... meh. I understand why the dev went with this style, but it’s so muddy and fuzzy that I genuinely thought something was wrong with my PC. No matter what settings I changed, it still looked funny. Unfortunately, this also made some of the text difficult to read. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys subtle horror. There are only a few actual in-your-face jump scares, with most of the horror coming from the subtle anomaly stuff. I had a lot of fun with this game and can’t wait for the next update, Endless Mode is gonna be fun.

I am a huge tedious cleaning game enjoyer. I’m also in LOVE with horror, so when I saw clips of this game, I was immediately interested. I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. I didn't expect it to have so much lore, and it actually kept me hooked throughout the game. Nightmare Mode has to be my favourite; it adds a much stronger horror element beyond “cleaning up murder scenes,” and there are a few fun references to other popular horror games. Some of the missions are super tedious, especially the huge maps where you have to scavenge around for tiny blood spatters for 100%. Overall, I’d say 80%+ of the missions were genuinely enjoyable to play. I also love how cleverly some of the secrets were hidden; a few were so obvious in hindsight that I had to facepalm when I found them. The graphics looked good without going overboard; you don’t need the 10k polygon raspberry in a game like this. I played on a graphics card WAY below the recommended specs (NVIDIA Quadro P620). I did have to lower the graphics, but it still ran pretty well with minimal lag. There were some lag spikes and asset clipping, which sometimes made something I needed clip through the floor and force me to restart. But overall, the bugs were minimal. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes tedious games or horror. I think Dexter Morgan would really enjoy this one. The horror does shine in Nightmare Mode, though. I’m excited for the Biohazard DLC. I had a great time in the base game, and I can’t wait for more content to come out.

I didn’t expect to like this game, honestly, but I found myself enjoying myself after a while. It’s nothing amazing, but it’s a fun little indie game with a touch of horror, and it being so short works in its favour. My biggest gripe is that the horror element is like… nonexistent. I wish they had expanded on it more instead of leaving a tiny touch of it at the end. I was excited, thinking it was gonna start normal and then really expand into that horror tag like a lot of these types of games, but honestly? No horror here; I wouldn’t even put that horror tag on it, but I do understand why it would be there. But all of that said, considering what IS here, I think it works well for what it is. I’d recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind a tedious game; it takes a while to get anywhere at the start, and the digging can become repetitive pretty quickly. Still, I’m personally a sucker for these types of games, and I was rather satisfied when things picked up and I began to dig deeper. Overall, it’s a simple and honestly enjoyable game; I just wouldn’t go into it with high expectations of horror as I did. It’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re just looking for something short to kill a couple of hours.
